Collective Effervescence is a term that encapsulates the feelings we have during events that bring us together as a community, an elevated feeling of being part of something bigger than ourselves. These times lift us up from the usual daily tasks into something that bonds us together through shared experience and joy, such as through parades, musical concerts, festivals and dance. Collective Effervescence is integral to the psyche for feelings of inclusion and hope. Over the past three years I have run events that are free to the community, The Dog Show in the summer and The Lantern Parade in the Fall, their only goal is to provide out of the ordinary fun and a break from the everyday to allow people to come together as a community and build shared memories of whimsy, unity, and joy.
