In January 2022, faced with another lockdown and three of us having to do school work online, spirits were pretty low in our house. Playing with the notion of the mask, I began making them out of items within the house and recruited my girls to help with posing and taking pictures. From Christmas ornaments, a broken plate, toilet rolls and so much more we not only made personas but also narratives for many of these temporary disguises. Through mining our domestic space for inspiration, we created work that allieviated the cabin fever, one mask at a time. The project ended as the three week lockdown lifted.
